As we move into July it has become very apparent that summer is upon us. This is a time when lots of volunteers will be in and out of their normal scheduling due to vacations and time with family. We strongly encourage family time and getting away to help refresh our team and keep us all in the realm of sanity… or at least close to that realm. With that in mind there are a few things that we are asking of the team.
1. Communication is key. If you are going to be away for a Sunday we would love to know as soon as you do. We want you to get away, but we would like to know before you leave and not when you don’t show up on Sunday. (This hasn’t happened in a long time, but believe it or not it has happened)
2. Flexibility is vital. For those of you that aren’t away from week to week we may be calling upon you to step up and fill a gap here and there. We may need you to serve in a new area or double up on a Sunday. We have had a great response when this is needed and we are very grateful for everyone’s willingness to put the kids first as they serve God!
3. Summer is fun. Let’s have a great time with the children and cherish every time we get the privilege of ministering to them. Life is short, let’s give the time we have away to others and enter into our rest when it is all over. Trust me, it will be worth it.
